The Microsoft Innovation Academy provides training in business skills to Microsoft BizSpark startups at no charge. The training is aimed at enabling startups to build specific business skills in support of their growth. In addition to providing an overview of the software industry, it covers the topics of value creation, managing customer expectations, leadership and culture, collaboration, business planning & strategy, services marketing and management, software and services sales processes, and performance measurement. The fast-paced training curriculum encourages the sharing of experiences and insights among participants and highlights local business cases. The program is operated by local Microsoft BizSpark Network Partners, Microsoft and The International Institute for Software Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IISEIE).
