I just came across a very interesting company called cmWare http://www.cmware.com. They have developed a technology called myMobileMedia where users can access their PC content anywhere from their mobile phone. I find this very interesting. This is the second potentially disruptive set of technologies I have seen recently - similar to www.mp3tunes.com ( which is a service that stores all your music in the clouds and allows users to play their music across devices). In the case of MP3Tunes, I thought they were disruptive because - why bother to spend $250 to buy an iPod or Zune Player if you can access all your music from your phone - with unlimited storage space in the clouds all for only a $40 subscription fee?
CMWare seems to even go one step further to give users access to their assets. Not only do they give seamless access to all the music stored on your PC, users can get all their other assets as well including files and video. Additionally, users do not have to take the pains to transfer that content anywhere - it stays exactly in its original location. - If I can access the music and videos on my PC without any need to transfer or move the media around - why would I even need Oboe(MP3Tunes)?
