French company Seemage was acquired this week by Dassault Systems one of Microsofts Global ISV partners. I wrote a blog article about Seemage a few months back and have been working with their management team to increase their visibility with the Microsoft sales force. They are a graduate of our organization's IDEES program in France lead by Jullien Codorniou.; This is a great move. Combining their solution with Dassault will give engineering user;in the Manufacturing space a seamless desktop environment in 3D. The non technical users that have to interact with engineering teams will easily be able to combine their 3D data with information from other enterprise systems to build product documentation - all in Microsoft Office.
This is quite a coup d'etat and should strengthen Microsoft's position against competitor Adobe in this space. See more about this aquisition at http://www.mbtmag.com/article/CA6486297.html
